Handbook of Disabilities

This popular resource is being updated gradually. It provides VR providers with an entry on each major disability, with an emphasis on implications for career-based employment, counseling situations, and possible job supports.

Social Security Work Incentives

The Social Security Administration has developed a system of supports to help people with disabilities transition from full support from SSI/DI to full employment. However, sometimes the intricacies of the process are hard to understand. This DPS resource explains the regulations and procedures.

Conference Archives

Over the years, DPS and its various projects have hosted many regional and national conferences. As a public service, we archive many of the presenters' Power Point files and transcripts on this site.

Issues Forum Archives

One of our most popular conferences has been the annual Issues Forum, previously hosted by the CRP-RCEP. Although the Issues Forum conference is on hiatus, we continue to maintain an archive of past conferences on the CRP site.

More Than A Job

More Than A Job: a Self-Determination Career Development Model. This DPS resources was developed by the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services. It provides information on how to support people with disabilities in making informed decisions about their own career paths. The site provides a tutorial and numerous support documents.

Ask Kathy M.

Kathy Moeller is a specialist on support for people with Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs). For several years, she answered questions from the public about this topic for DPS. Her answers are informative and thought-provoking.

Orientation To Rehabilitation
